“I use a wide range of media painting on canvas, gesso board and paper. My practice is known for its experimental breadth and my textile design training  informs my use of colour and sense of placement.”

“I frequently sketch on location gathering visual research to reference when I’m back in my studio in rural Shropshire”.

Painting on location, Aberdour, Fife, Scotland

A large part of my artistic practice is to draw on location in a sketchbook and on loose sheets. Taking the time to walk and explore with my ruc sac on my back is an important part of my week. Always curious and interested in the visual world I finds these daily walks provide an opportunity to experiment with new ideas, techniques and ways of interpreting the world. Working outside reacting to the place, its particular light and identity is central to my creative process.

I am an established British landscape and still life artist, represented by contemporary galleries throughout the UK and my work has been collected worldwide.
